The world we are living is filled with flatteries.Using flattering words people seduce others.In the book pf Proverbs we read about a woman who uses flattering words to seduce a youth who is simple and void of understanding (Prov 7:21,22) Most of the time the person flattered is an utter failure morally, spirituall and emotionally. To "pump up" that person , his or her relatives and friends will never be helped to come out of his pathetic situation.
In the Holy Bible calls this feeling pride. In Job we read "Letme not, I pray you, accept any man'sperson , neither let me give flattering titles ; in so doing my maker would soon take me away " ( job 32:21,22)
Titles given by God are honourabe . But if we are nor not careful to give glory to God when we are exalted to honour, the proud spirit will enter in and destroy our inner man , sending us to the lowest hell.
The more we are exalted , the more we must be willing to "go down".Our Prayer should not be for titles but for holliness, purity and humility.It is God who promotes us and it is wonderful and honourable (ps 75:6,7)
